Red Cross Finds Starving Children Lying Next to Bodies of Mothers

The International Committee of the Red Cross has accused the Israeli military of "unacceptable" conduct and breaching international humanitarian law after discovering four emaciated children living next to the corpses of their mothers and other adults in bomb-shattered houses in Gaza City.

The ICRC said that it had spent four days seeking Israeli guarantees of safe passage so that it could gain access to the houses in the badly damaged Zaytun neighbourhood of the city. It was finally allowed to send in a rescue team and four Palestine Red Crescent Society ambulances yesterday afternoon and said today that what they found was shocking.

In one house they discovered four small children, alive but too weak to stand, next to the bodies of their dead mothers. In all their were 12 dead bodies lying on mattresses.

In another house they found 15 survivors of the Israeli bombardment, several of them wounded, and in a third, three corpses. At that point they were ordered to leave by Israeli soldiers manning a post some 80 metres away, but they refused to do so.

The children and the wounded had to be taken to the ambulances by donkey cart because earth walls erected by the Israeli army made it impossible to bring the vehicles close enough to the houses.

The ICRC said that it believed there were more wounded sheltering in the ruins of other houses in the same neighbourhood, and in an unusually robust public statement issued by the organisation's Geneva headquarters it demanded that the Israeli military grant it immediate access to search for them.

"This is a shocking incident," Pierre Wettach, the ICRC's head of delegation for Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, said. "The Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the wounded. Neither did they make it possible for us or the Palestine Red Crescent to assist the wounded."

UN: Israel Rounds Up 100 into Safe House Then Bombs

UN said that "according to several testimonies, on 4 January Israeli foot soldiers evacuated approximately 100 people into a single-residence house in Zeitun, half of whom were children, warning them to stay indoors.

But 24-hours later, Israeli forces shelled the home repeatedly, killing between 30 and 60 people.

The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) called it "one of the gravest incidents since the beginning of operations" by Israeli forces in Gaza on December 27.

"Those who survived and were able walked two kilometres to Salah Ed Din road before being transported to hospital in civilian vehicles. Three children, the youngest of whom was five months old, died upon arrival at the hospital," OCHA said in a report on the situation in the battered Gaza Strip.

Asked for comment an Israeli military spokesman said the allegation was being investigated as were other claims that civilians were fired upon and that troops failed to help wounded civilians.

An estimated 770 Palestinians and 14 Israelis have died in nearly two weeks of Israel's air and ground offensive against the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

It came as Israel carried out a series of intensive bombardments over Gaza early today despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Montreal activists serve eviction notice to Israeli Consulate

Thursday, January 8th : In protest against the ongoing Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip activists in Montreal have taken action at the Israeli Consulate in Montreal.

Serving a detailed an eviction notice to the Israeli Consulate in Montreal demonstrators demanded “the eviction of the Consulate of Israel, the expulsion of the Consular General and an immediate end to the Israeli assault on Gaza.”

Effectively shutting down daily operations at the Israeli Consulate this morning activists severed an eviction notice and successfully shut-down the daily operations at the Consulate.

In solidarity with the 1.5 million people in Gaza demonstrators in Montreal are demanding an end to Israel’s military assault, the 18-month siege on the Gaza Strip and to allow humanitarian aid into the territory.

“Canada’s lack of response to recent war crimes in Gaza speaks volumes about their support for Israeli apartheid,” said Sophie Schoen, a spokesperson for the action.

Protesters are outraged at Israel’s latest assault on the Palestinian people and by the Canadian government’s refusal to condemn these massacres that have left 700 dead and over 3000 wounded since December 27, 2008.

In the past 24 hours Israeli has bombarded three U.N. schools in Gaza killing dozens of internally displaced refugees inside Gaza.

“We demand the Canadian government cut all ties with the apartheid regime of Israel,” said Mostafa Henaway of Tadamon! Montreal.

The action in Montreal comes on the heels of countless protests worldwide against Israeli war crimes, including an occupation of the Israeli Consulate in Toronto by Jewish women yesterday.

EVICTION NOTICE

DEFENDANT: Consulate of Israel in Montreal

WHEREBY the tenant of this premise is responsible for war crimes under the fourth Geneva Convention, including ;

* The bombing of the Islamic University in Gaza City, and other civilian infrastructure such as ambulances and mosques;

* The shelling of a U.N. school in the Jabalya refugee camp in Gaza, killing over 40 people, including many children;

* The suffocation of the people of Gaza, through an imposed 18 month siege, effectively cutting-off access to fuel, cooking gas, flour, and other basic necessities;

* The killing of over 700 people, a significant portion who are civilians, during their offensive entitled “Operation Cast Lead” which began on December 27th, 2008.

THEREFORE, we as concerned resident of Montreal demand:

* The eviction of the Consulate of Israel, the expulsion of the Consular General, and an immediate end to the Israeli assault on Gaza.

Stop blogging or you'll be killed.

I have got three calls from anonymous persons stop blogging or I would be killed. Yet, I would keep on this track. Some of you do wonder how I send news in such conditions. I really suffer a lot to send you this update due to lack of power. I go around 4 kilo meters a day in this cruel war where I charge my laptop battery to be able to send this work! This is very risky since shells rain down and drones hover over me! I will keep this up.

Holocaust Denied & The Lying Silence of Those Who Know

"When the truth is replaced by silence," the Soviet dissident Yevgeny Yevtushenko said, "the silence is a lie." It may appear the silence is broken on Gaza. The cocoons of murdered children, wrapped in green, together with boxes containing their dismembered parents and the cries of grief and rage of everyone in that death camp by the sea, can be viewed on al-Jazeera and YouTube, even glimpsed on the BBC. But Russia's incorrigible poet was not referring to the ephemeral we call news; he was asking why those who knew the why never spoke it and so denied it. Among the Anglo-American intelligentsia, this is especially striking. It is they who hold the keys to the great storehouses of knowledge: the historiographies and archives that lead us to the why.

They know that the horror now raining on Gaza has little to do with Hamas or, absurdly, "Israel's right to exist." They know the opposite to be true: that Palestine's right to exist was canceled 61 years ago and the expulsion and, if necessary, extinction of the indigenous people was planned and executed by the founders of Israel. They know, for example, that the infamous "Plan D" resulted in the murderous depopulation of 369 Palestinian towns and villages by the Haganah (Jewish army) and that massacre upon massacre of Palestinian civilians in such places as Deir Yassin, al-Dawayima, Eilaboun, Jish, Ramle and Lydda are referred to in official records as "ethnic cleansing."

In Gaza, the enforced starvation and denial of humanitarian aid, the piracy of life-giving resources such as fuel and water, the denial of medicines and treatment, the systematic destruction of infrastructure and the killing and maiming of the civilian population, 50 per cent of whom are children, meet the international standard of the Genocide Convention. "Is it an irresponsible overstatement," asked Richard Falk, the United Nations Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and international law authority at Princeton University, "to associate the treatment of Palestinians with this criminalized Nazi record of collective atrocity? I think not."

In describing a "holocaust-in-the making," Falk was alluding to the Nazis' establishment of Jewish ghettos in Poland. For one month in 1943, the captive Polish Jews led by Mordechaj Anielewiz fought off the German army and the SS, but their resistance was finally crushed and the Nazis exacted their final revenge. Falk is also a Jew. Today's holocaust-in-the-making, which began with Ben-Gurion's Plan D, is in its final stages. The difference today is that it is a joint US-Israeli project.

Dr. Dahlia Wasfi is an American writer on Palestine. She has a Jewish mother and an Iraqi Muslim father. "Holocaust denial is anti-Semitic," she wrote on 31 December. "But I'm not talking about World War Two, Mahmoud Ahmedinijad (the president of Iran) or Ashkenazi Jews. What I'm referring to is the holocaust we are all witnessing and responsible for in Gaza today and in Palestine over the past 60 years … Since Arabs are Semites, US-Israeli policy doesn't get more anti-Semitic than this." She quoted Rachel Corrie, the young American who went to Palestine to defend Palestinians and was crushed by an Israeli bulldozer. "I am in the midst of a genocide," wrote Corrie, "which I am also indirectly supporting and for which my government is largely responsible."

...what happens in Gaza is the defining moment of our time, which either grants the impunity of war criminals the immunity of our silence, while we contort our own intellect and morality, or gives us the power to speak out. For the moment I prefer my own memory of Gaza: of the people's courage and resistance and their "luminous humanity," as Karma Nabulsi put it. On my last trip there, I was rewarded with a spectacle of Palestinian flags fluttering in unlikely places. It was dusk and children had done this. No one told them to do it. They made flagpoles out of sticks tied together, and a few of them climbed on to a wall and held the flag between them, some silently, others crying out. They do this every day when they know foreigners are leaving, believing the world will not forget them.

Bone Head "Joe the Plumber" is Going to Israel

I don't know about you, but I'm glad the elections are over. If I had to watch one more American ass hole express their concerns about poor vulnerable nuclear powered Israel during a debate , I'd a put a shoe through my new big screen plasma. Now that would have been some serious contempt. And worse yet was having to watch each politician pledge their absolute fealty and allegiance to the murderous Apartheid State. Like most of you, I thought the end of the elections would spell the end for old Plumber Joe. I know I'd heard all I needed to from him. But life could never be that fair. Joe will apparently return to show his further love for the people of Israel.

He told WNWO-TV in Toledo that he wants to let Israel's "'Average Joes' share their story." Okay Joe here is a great first story for you . Go over to the West Bank and interview some of those Side Curled Joe Squatters. Ask them why they are always throwing rocks at Palestinian children on their way to school. Lets see if Joe enjoys the shower of spit that rains upon him from those Squatter Joes. Do you think Joe will enjoy the favorite squatter chant, "we killed Jesus we'll kill you to"(as if the ancestors of those assholes had anything to do with the death of Jesus). Have at it Plumber Joe.

Israeli Invasion and Gaza's Offshore Gas Fields

The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves. This is a war of conquest. Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.

P.S. Can't let terrorists [anyone but us zionists] have their hands on those resources.

Palestine Holocaust

After starving the Palestinians for months on end, they commence to slaughter the virtually defenseless people. Humanity has not seen an evil group that can hold a candle to the zionists. Is the body humanity ready to vomit out zionism [jewish supremacism, jewish exceptionalism, jewish apartheid]? Are people beginning to realize that there is no such thing as nice, humane zionism?
