The Fed said the action is intended to "expand significantly" the cash available to financial institutions in an effort to relieve to the worst credit crisis since the Great Depression. In taking the action, the Fed cited "continued strains" in the demand for short-term funding.
Central banks will continue to work closely and are prepared to take "appropriate steps as needed" to ease the crisis and get banks lending again, the Fed said.On
Wall Street stocks dropped sharply even after the Fed's announcement. At one point in the afternoon, the Dow Jones industrials plunged more than 700 points after the House voted down a massive financial rescue package.
Under one new step, the Fed will boost the amount of 84-day cash loans available to U.S. banks. The Fed is increasing the amount to $75 billion, up from the current $25 billion starting on Oct. 6. Banks bid on a slice of the loans at an auction.
That move will triple the supply of 84-day loans to $225 billion, from $75 billion, the Fed said.
Meanwhile, the Fed will continue to make $75 billion worth of shorter, 28-day loans available to banks. All told, the total amount of cash loans — 84-day and 28-day — available to banks will double to $300 billion from $150 billion, the Fed said.
Moreover, the Fed made an extra $330 billion available to other central banks. That boosted to $620 billion the total amount available to the central bank through currency "swap" arrangements, where dollars are traded for their currencies. That total is up from $290 billion previously being made available through such arrangements.
The Bank of Canada, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan, the European Central Bank, the Swiss National Bank and the central banks of Denmark, Norway, Australia and Sweden are involved in those swap arrangements.
"We are experiencing a massive credit implosion," said T.J. Marta, a fixed-income strategist at RBC Capital Markets.
The move comes as the U.S. financial meltdown's tendrils have ensnared banks in Britain, the Benelux and Germany.By pledging to provide "a very large" cash infusion, the Fed hopes the actions will "reassure financial market participants."
The Fed action came hours before the House defeated a $700 billion financial bailout plan, ignoring urgent pleas by President George W. Bush and Bernanke to move swiftly.
P.S. We're being swindled, folks.
"We get up early, to beat the crowds," the shirt reads, followed by "2008 DNC." The words flank a grinning police officer holding a baton and wearing a hat with a crossed-out number "68," presumably making reference to activist organization Recreate 68, which staged several anti-war demonstrations during the convention.
"The people of Denver were assured by the city that it would respect First Amendment rights during the DNC, and that that police officers were being trained to do so. The actions of police during the DNC, which involved numerous violations of people's right to freedom of speech and assembly, put the lie to those promises," said Recreate 68's Glenn Spagnuolo. "And now this appalling, tasteless t-shirt shows why. The members of Denver's police union clearly have no respect for the rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution. The Denver Police Department Operations Manual includes a Law Enforcement Code of Ethics, which begins, 'As a Law Enforcement Officer, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind, to safeguard lives and property, to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and justice.' The creation of this t-shirt makes a mockery of that statement."
Detective Nick Rogers of the Police Protective Association said that the union predicts sales of about 2,000 shirts in addition to the ones given free to Denver police officers, and also told KMGH that he hadn't received any complaints about the shirt.

Friends, Let me cut to the chase. The biggest robbery in the history of this country is taking place as you read this. Though no guns are being used, 300 million hostages are being taken. Make no mistake about it: After stealing a half trillion dollars to line the pockets of their war-profiteering backers for the past five years, after lining the pockets of their fellow oilmen to the tune of over a hundred billion dollars in just the last two years, Bush and his cronies -- who must soon vacate the White House -- are looting the U.S. Treasury of every dollar they can grab. They are swiping as much of the silverware as they can on their way out the door.
No matter what they say, no matter how many scare words they use, they are up to their old tricks of creating fear and confusion in order to make and keep themselves and the upper one percent filthy rich. Just read the first four paragraphs of the lead story in last Monday's New York Times ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3Lm55dGltZXMuY29tLzIwMDgvMDkvMjIvYnVzaW5lc3MvMjJsb2JieS5odG1s ) and you can see what the real deal is:
"Even as policy makers worked on details of a $700 billion bailout of the financial industry, Wall Street began looking for ways to profit from it."
"Financial firms were lobbying to have all manner of troubled investments covered, not just those related to mortgages."
"At the same time, investment firms were jockeying to oversee all the assets that Treasury plans to take off the books of financial institutions, a role that could earn them hundreds of millions of dollars a year in fees."
"Nobody wants to be left out of Treasury's proposal to buy up bad assets of financial institutions."
Unbelievable. Wall Street and its backers created this mess and now they are going to clean up like bandits Even Rudy Giuliani is lobbying for his firm to be hired (and paid) to "consult" in the bailout ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3Lm55ZGFpbHluZXdzLmNvbS9uZXdzL3BvbGl0aWNzLzIwMDgvMDkvMjUvMjAwOC0wOS0yNV9ydWR5X2dpdWxpYW5pc19jcmFzc19vcHBvcnR1bmlzbV9yZWZsZWN0Lmh0bWw= ).
The problem is, nobody truly knows what this "collapse" is all about. Even Treasury Secretary Paulson admitted he doesn't know the exact amount that is needed (he just picked the $700 billion number out of his head!). The head of the congressional budget office said he can't figure it out nor can he explain it to anyone.
And yet, they are screeching about how the end is near! Panic! Recession! The Great Depression! Y2K! Bird flu! Killer bees! We must pass the bailout bill today!! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
Falling for whom? NOTHING in this "bailout" package will lower the price of the gas you have to put in your car to get to work. NOTHING in this bill will protect you from losing your home. NOTHING in this bill will give you health insurance.
Health insurance? Mike, why are you bringing this up? What's this got to do with the Wall Street collapse?
It has everything to do with it. This so-called "collapse" was triggered by the massive defaulting and foreclosures going on with people's home mortgages. Do you know why so many Americans are losing their homes? To hear the Republicans describe it, it's because too many working class idiots were given mortgages that they really couldn't afford Here's the truth: The number one cause of people declaring bankruptcy is because of medical bills ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3Lm55dGltZXMuY29tLzIwMDUvMDIvMDIvYnVzaW5lc3MvMDJpbnN1cmUuaHRtbA== ). Let me state this simply: If we had had universal health coverage, this mortgage "crisis" may never have happened.
This bailout's mission is to protect the obscene amount of wealth that has been accumulated in the last eight years. It's to protect the top shareholders who own and control corporate America. It's to make sure their yachts and mansions and "way of life" go uninterrupted while the rest of America suffers and struggles to pay the bills. Let the rich suffer for once. Let them pay for the bailout. We are spending 400 million dollars a day on the war in Iraq Let them end the war immediately and save us all another half-trillion dollars!
I have to stop writing this and you have to stop reading it. They are staging a financial coup this morning in our country. They are hoping Congress will act fast before they stop to think, before we have a chance to stop them ourselves So stop reading this and do something -- NOW! Here's what you can do immediately:
1. Call ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnZpc2kuY29tL2p1YW4vY29uZ3Jlc3MvY2dpLWJpbi9uZXdtZW1iZXJiaW8uY2dpP2xhbmc9Jm1lbWJlcj1JTEpSJnNpdGU9Y3RjJmFkZHJlc3M9JmNpdHk9JnN0YXRlPUlMJnppcGNvZGU9JnBsdXNmb3VyPQ== ) or e-mail ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vbXkuYmFyYWNrb2JhbWEuY29tL3BhZ2Uvcy9jb250YWN0Mg== ) Senator Obama. Tell him he does not need to be sitting there trying to help prop up Bush and Cheney and the mess they've made. Tell him we know he has the smarts to slow this thing down and figure out what's the best route to take. Tell him the rich have to pay for whatever help is offered.Use the leverage we have now to insist on a moratorium on home foreclosures, to insist on a move to universal health coverage, and tell him that we the people need to be in charge of the economic decisions that affect our lives, not the barons of Wall Street.
2. Take to the streets Participate in one of the hundreds of quickly-called demonstrations ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vdHJ1ZW1ham9yaXR5LndpcmVkZm9yY2hhbmdlLmNvbS9ldmVudC9kaXN0cmlidXRlZEV2ZW50Q2FsZW5kYXIuanNw ) that are taking place all over the country (especially those near Wall Street and DC).
3. Call your Representative in Congress and your Senators (click here to find their phone numbers: http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnZpc2kuY29tL2p1YW4vY29uZ3Jlc3Mv ). Tell them what you told Senator Obama.
When you screw up in life, there is hell to pay. Each and every one of you reading this knows that basic lesson and has paid the consequences of your actions at some point. In this great democracy, we cannot let there be one set of rules for the vast majority of hard-working citizens, and another set of rules for the elite, who, when they screw up, are handed one more gift on a silver platter. No more! Not again!
Yours, Michael Moore
P.S. Having read further the details of this bailout bill, you need to know you are being lied to. They talk about how they will prevent golden parachutes. It says NOTHING about what these executives and fat cats will make in SALARY. According to Rep. Brad Sherman of California, these top managers will continue to receive million-dollar-a-month paychecks under this new bill. There is no direct ownership given to the American people for the money being handed over. Foreign banks and investors will be allowed to receive billion-dollar handouts. A large chunk of this $700 billion is going to be given directly to Chinese and Middle Eastern banks. There is NO guarantee of ever seeing that money again.
P.P.S. From talking to people I know in DC, they say the reason so many Dems are behind this is because Wall Street this weekend put a gun to their heads and said either turn over the $700 billion or the first thing we'll start blowing up are the pension funds and 401(k)s of your middle class constituents. The Dems are scared they may make good on their threat. But this is not the time to back down or act like the typical Democrat we have witnessed for the last eight years. The Dems handed a stolen election over to Bush. The Dems gave Bush the votes he needed to invade a sovereign country. Once they took over Congress in 2007, they refused to pull the plug on the war. And now they have been cowered into being accomplices in the crime of the century. You have to call them now ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnZpc2kuY29tL2p1YW4vY29uZ3Jlc3Mv ) and say "NO!" If we let them do this, just imagine how hard it will be to get anything good done when President Obama is in the White House. THESE DEMOCRATS ARE ONLY AS STRONG AS THE BACKBONE WE GIVE THEM CALL CONGRESS NOW ( http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnZpc2kuY29tL2p1YW4vY29uZ3Jlc3Mv ).

Basically, the neocon Zionist campaigns such as "Islamofascism" in the media and college campuses, and the most recent attempt, a film called Obsession, aim at saying to Americans and Europeans that these Muslims out there are dangerous and bad, which justifies invading them, occupying their countries, and usurping their resources.
What these neocon Zionists forget every time is that Americans and Europeans are not that stupid. People everywhere know that US-EU invasions of Muslim countries happened FIRST, then all these announcements or actions from Muslims happened after as a reaction to the Zionist-led US-EU policies and invasions.
The US-UK invasion of the Middle East started in 1990, with the pretext of expelling Iraqis from Kuwait. But when this happened in 1991, US-EU forces did not leave, which triggered resistance to the US-EU military presence there. There was no hostility or bad blood until 1991, when US-EU forces killed about 150,000 Iraqis, in an unwarranted war. Iraq was destroyed as a strong Arab state standing in the face of the Israeli hegemony in the oil-rich Middle East.
About one and a half million Iraqis were killed by the US-EU imposed embargo and sanctions from 1990 to 2003, then more than one million Iraqis have been killed as a result of the 2003 US-EU invasion and occupation of that beleaguered country.
What did the Iraqis do to the US and Europe to deserve what has been happening to them? They have never posed any threats to Americans or Europeans.
Why is this destruction to their country?
The unequivocal answer comes from the neocon Zionist document, called "Clean Break," which was written in 1996, by the same people who planned and executed the US-EU invasion of Iraq, namely Wolfowitz, Pearle, and Feith.
It's part of a grand Zionist plan to dominate the oil-rich Middle East after destroying Arab and Muslim states one after the other, with Iran next on their menu.
Palestinians have never posed any threat to Europeans or Americans, including Jews. Before the Zionist invasion of their homeland between the two world wars, they have never participated in harming Jews.
Why were they invaded and subjected to the longest and most brutal occupation in human history, with continuous sadistic practices on daily basis since 1948?
Neocon Zionists want to distract people in Europe and America from the horrors of the Israeli occupation practices. Thus doing, they give an example of how neocon Zionists (referred to in the academia as Israel Lobby) use enormous amounts of money to keep their tight grip on the information fed to the minds of Americans and Europeans, who are bombarded with the same smearing messages from the Zionist-owned and controlled mass media (major corporate TV stations, newspapers, and magazines).
This new desperate attempt, called "Obsession," is truly a Zionist obsession to smear the victims of wars of the Zionist Empire.
It's a Zionist obsession with aggression, distortion, and hate of mankind.
For peace activists:
The best way to deal with latest neocon Zionist ploy is uncovering it as such.
Peace activists can show documentaries about the evil Israeli occupation practices during the Infifada and about the horrors of the US-EU wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
People should know that Muslims have been FIRST subjected to invasions and occupation by Israelis and their Zionist-controlled governments in Europe and America.
Speak out in your places of worship, write letters to newspapers, organize protests against any entity which participates in spreading this neocon Zionist smearing campaign.
Promoting peace is patriotic.
Promoting hate justifies oppression of victims, aggression, hostilities, and wars.
When asked by our correspondent about congressional agreement on the bailout plan and the element of over-sight that were discussed in the Congress, Keiser replied that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson wants impunity, he is getting ready to print money without any real backup.
Keiser said that America is broke and people have no savings, so in order to pay back the bail out, US has to borrow money, or to print fresh money, and that amounts to a rising tsunami for the US economy.
Regarding oversight on the economy, the iconoclastic analyst said that this Congress is corrupt and not working for the interest of American citizens and indicated that most congressional members, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. John Kerry, are huge stock owners with clearly vested interests [how many members of congress aren't?].
Keiser also noted that there are rumors that China may want to divert its investment from the US economy because of the mountain of bad debt and if that happens the US is heading toward an economic catastrophe.
When asked about the constitutionality of the bailout scheme he replied that it seems that Congress does not have enough stamina to face George Bush's monarchial rule.
When the PressTv correspondent drew a parallel between nationalization of investment giants with the former era of the Soviet Union, Keiser retorted that the US has gone through a capitalistic period, skipped socialism and gone right into state communism, and predicted that President Bush may declare a state of emergency to postpone the upcoming US presidential election.
P.S. If Bush actually cancels the elections, how many Americans will cheer it? Just look at your neighbors with the McCain signs. That'll give you a good idea.

Seven years after 9/11, we witness another, greater and even more enjoyable collapse, that of the American financial pyramid. It took some twenty years in building; its collapse took only a few weeks. Let us cut the hypocritical crap: this was a wonderful show, no ifs, ands or buts. The US stock markets boomed when they bombed Baghdad and Belgrade, they prospered when they robbed Moscow and squeezed sweat from Beijing. When they had it good, they had plenty of money for invading Iraq, threatening Iran and strangling Palestine. In short, when it was good for them, it was bad for us.
Let them have a taste of their own medicine!
"They" are not the Americans, and "we" are not the rest of the planet. "They" are a small sliver of the American population, the get-rich-quick crowd from the East Side of Manhattan and similar places. The last twenty years witnessed a great shift of money upwards, to a smaller and smaller pack of greedy beasts. While the majority of Americans lost the ability to send their children to universities, these fat cats bought themselves villas in Florida and houses in Tel Aviv. Worse, they spent their billions buying up the media in order to subvert American democracy and send American soldiers to fight wars in far-away places. A big part of the stolen money was siphoned off to Israel, where apartment prices went through the roof and are still rising.
They had it good; they were proud that the financial charts of the US and of the world were drawn up in a small room by Henry Paulson of the Treasury, Ben Bernanke and Alan Greenspan of the Federal Reserve, by Maurice Greenberg of A.I.G. They built their world surrounded by Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Marc Rich, Michael Milken, Andrew Fastow, George Soros, et al. Their exciting new world of Lexus and Nexus was glorified by Tom Friedman of the New York Times. They gave the Nobel Prize in Economics to Myron Scholes and Robert C. Merton, proud board directors of the now infamous Long Term Capital Management hedge fund that was bailed out by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to the tune of $3.6 billion. President Bush rewarded them for their unaccountability by releasing them from the burden of taxation. Let them pay now for all the fun they had.
They took your real dollars and turned it into funny money -- "unredeemable, non-interest-bearing promissory notes of the Fed, that are not backed by anything other than the confidence of the credulous", in the words of one Internet wit. The ruination of the American working class and even its middle class is unavoidable The fears about the Large Hadron Collider creating a big black hole in place of Earth were based on this sinking feeling that the incredible riches of the US are disappearing into their own black hole.
This is not the first confidence trick in US history: Jay Gould and Joseph Seligman caused the 'Black Friday' stock market crash in the late 19th century, while Jacob Schiff caused the notorious 'Black Thursday' panic that led to a nationwide economic depression. Seligman was also the mover behind the Panama affair, a stock market swindle that became proverbial in France. The swindle was set up by two Jews of German origin, Jacques Reinach and Cornelius Herz who bribed parliamentarians. While Reinach was working on the right wing, the 'Republicans' of his day, Herz was working on the 'Democrats'. Wikipedia quotes Hannah Arendt, who wrote that the middlemen between the business sector and the state were almost exclusively Jews. This warm embrace between the state and the business sector was a recipe for disaster.
Obviously things have changed since then, and now the Mammonites are of various persuasions, even of Christian Science, like Hank Paulson, whose net worth is estimated at $700 million and whose career at Goldman Sachs (Chairman 1998-2006) made him the obvious choice for the position of secretary of the treasury. Only their devotion to the god of Greed remained constant. In the world of ideal capitalism ("market economy") they so glorified, they would have paid a price. In Glen David Gold's vastly entertaining novel Carter Beats the Devil, their spiritual ancestor was tarred and feathered by strong-willed Connecticut folk circa 1670, for he had bought a whole boatload of imported products with the criminal intent of getting rich quick by cornering the market and ripping off his fellow men. Nowadays such a criminal would get a medal from the neo-liberal Milton Friedman Fund, a citation from JINSA and be taught as a positive example by the Harvard Business School.
Now they intend to use their control over the government in order to shift their losses onto ordinary Americans. Whether this act is called 'nationalisation' or 'privatisation' or 'bailout', the bottom line is that many Americans will find themselves poor, and all Americans will have a huge tax burden to bear. But the perpetrators of the pyramid will get off scot-free; they will retire to their castles and to their sure and protected investments as they have always done before.
The Americans were played for suckers; they were cleaned out as easily as were the unsophisticated Albanians a few years ago. Even worse: the Albanians took out their guns and pursued the robbers; the Americans take it all lying down. But the device was the same.
The Americans are entitled to know who robbed them and their children: these are the men who became so ostentatiously rich during last two decades. They should pay the price of their crime. And if the government, the President, the Congress and Senate, the Democrats and the Republicans are reluctant to enforce it, the ordinary Americans may do as their Connecticut Yankee ancestors did: apply tar and feathers liberally. If this does not help, hang the bastards on the lamp posts.
This is exactly the time to remember why America's Founding Fathers enshrined the people's right to own and bear arms in the Second Amendment to the Constitution. Thank God the ADL did not cancel it yet. These arms are not for robbers: they are given to enforce justice when all other means fail. Aux armes, to arms, as the French said when giving this treatment to their tricksters. America has a great tradition of instant direct justice enforcement, this Hang'em High call of the Westerns.
Heed it now!
Let US soldiers come back from unneeded wars and remote bases all over the world: their real enemy is in their own country. In the ringing, still relevant words of Lenin, let us turn the imperial war into a civil one, against the greedy bastards. Instead of charging taxpayers, turn the US into a billionaire-free zone! The billionaires, these greediest rats, gained most from the Great Pyramid; pauperise them. Nullify their bank accounts.
The disappearance of trillions of dollars from their electronic bank accounts will drive the value of the greenback up; your salary will become real money again!
If we assume that more than half of all billionaires are proud members of the Israel Lobby, it will also solve the Middle Eastern problem. To be on the safe side, confiscate all the assets of the Pyramid-builders: of Paulson and Bernanke, of Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs executives, and of President Bush who allowed it all to happen. Peace will come to Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq; Americans will again become proud of their country. Such mass confiscation will restore democracy in the US: the next candidates for the Presidency will not go hat in hand to AIPAC to declare their fealty. The defeat of Greed will turn people back to God; the eliminated ballast will allow for national medical care, social security and free education for all. Instead of being a disaster, the financial collapse offers a unique opportunity to fix all America's ills.
Do not miss it!
Speaking for the wide world outside America, I'll tell you this: do not throw good money after bad. Reject the seductive purring from Washington. Consider your funds in the US already lost. If you can still get something, good; but do not waste money and efforts to regain what is gone. There is a most valuable asset you may get for the lost ones; that is your freedom and independence.
The Pyramid collapse will set you free!

P.S. One word for the bail-out request for wall street billionairs: Chutzpah... Oy Vay! ... plenty of it.

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies . . . If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] . . . will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered . . . The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." -Thomas Jefferson
Just Get There On Tuesday, the FBI announced an investigation of the four major U.S. financial institutions at the center of the proposed $700 billion dollar bailout planed by Paulson and the Bush Administration. With the addition of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, AIG and Lehman Brothers, this would bring the grand total of corporate lenders to 26 over the past year. Excuse me for the lack of faith from the FBI, but this will probably be a farce with low level execs being sacrificed while the CEO's, top execs and other benefactors get away scot free with multi-million dollar bonuses. A real investigation into this mess shouldn't end there, they should also be investigating the Treasury, Fed and Bush administration as well, since they are the real culprits who let this happen over the years. The fact that they are trying to ram this so called "bailout" through without any oversight, Constitutional authority and the threat of economic doom is reason enough. These actions represent an apparent financial dictatorship lead by Paulson which began with the bailout of Bear Stearns.
Similar to the passage of the Patriot Act, most of the congressman who's job it is to uphold the Constitution and represent the American people, will probably not even read the bill even if they have a chance to. In essence, we are looking at the socialization of our economic system by the very same people who engineered the collapse by sheer greed. The root cause of the problem is not being addressed whatsoever, a fiat monetary system based on debt, with money printed out of thin air, backed up with ones and zeros on a computer which are turned into derivatives leveraged out to infinity.
Hey John, your buddy 'The Decider' is not leaving too much on the bone for ya.
"Unlike the Western oil majors, the militant Zionist proponents of greater Israel view stability and peace in the Middle East as inimical to their goals. Chaos and strife create the 'revolutionary atmosphere' (as Ben Gurion one of the key founders of the state of Israel put it) in which more land and water resources can be taken under their control. This fact explains the motive behind the ceaseless provocations and destabilization that the Israeli military and secret services perpetrate.
The 'iron wall' policy established by Ze’ev Jabotinsky prior to the founding of the Jewish state requires the expulsion of Christian and Muslim Arabs from Palestine. Such a goal requires war or other violent means. David Ben Gurion stated, 'What is inconceivable in normal times is possible in revolutionary times; and if at this time the opportunity is missed and what is possible in such great hours is not carried out . . . a whole world is lost.' This reality, of the necessity for violent upheaval to achieve Zionist aims, exposes which party is the true aggressor in the Middle East."
and (note how 'progressive' writers support this deception while hiding their comments as criticism):
"In their struggle to expand the Jewish state in the 'land of Israel,' Zionists have attempted to portray their interests as coinciding with those of the Western imperial powers. Conversely they have tried to portray their opponents as enemies of those powers. Yet the only business sector of the Western powers that has interests that align with Israel’s convulsive militarism is the military industrial complex. An elaborate structure has been established to forge a de facto alliance between Israel’s war hawks and the US military industrial complex. This alliance is evidenced in entities such as the Center for Security Policy, Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs."
and (problems that should be obvious - particularly now! - to Americans):
"The radical cabal of Zionists tried to enlist popular support for the wars by alluding to Iraq’s energy resources as Paul Wolfowitz did when he stated, 'Iraq sits on a sea of oil.' However, after five years of occupation likely costing trillions of dollars, there is little hope of securing any preferential access to, much less, reliable control over any energy resources. Prior to the invasion, Exxon/Mobil was the world’s biggest publicly traded entity, a distinction that now falls on its Chinese competitor, SINOPEC.
While the relative market share of U.S. oil majors has declined, the destruction of Iraqi society, the devastation of its scientific and intellectual institutions, and the dismantling of its industrial infrastructure, all Zionist goals, have been achieved. Similarly, the American economy has been brought to a standstill due to high oil prices resulting from the wars and the current account deficit that is largely a result of borrowing for war spending. Over the course of the occupation, the U.S. dollar has declined in value by nearly 40 percent.
Nobel prize winning economist, Joseph Stiglitz has stated that the sanctions imposed on Iran coupled with the war atmosphere in the Gulf region, in general, has caused investment in and development of new oil production to come to a halt, exacerbating the high prices that result from the constant threats issuing out of Tel Aviv and the neocon institutes in Washington. It remains to be seen whether the non-Zionist elites in the Western world can begin to challenge the endless wars for Israel by at the very least opposing the sanctions against dealings with Iran.
"It is curious how normal people in the world find it difficult to understand that others have goals which actually require conflict and instability. Much of what we see happening in and around Israel and Zionism can only be explained by the fact that the Zionists have always understood that the highly unlikely goal of Greater Israel can only be obtained through confusion, destruction, crisis and war. Even the Cold War, now being revitalized by Zionists in the American government, is part of this program. As I keep repeating, the choice is stark: you can stop them now, or you can wait until they wreck the whole world.
P.S. The problem is that normal people think that Zionists are like them in that they want peace, justice, and to just get along fairly with others. They don't. And when they say they do, they're lying. It takes getting to know them to know this.

The only people who want it are the big money boys, the ultra elite, including the Wall Street fat cats and Fed who got us into this mess, and their counterparts abroad who would also be bailed out (see this and this).
It is literally America versus the financial elite.
Our zionist lords know the overwhelming majority of Americans are fed up with the bogus 'war on terror'... along with everything that's being sacrificed for it, number one being truth.

If you must break the law, do it to seize power: in all other cases observe it. ~ Julius Caesar
In 2000, the long fought for and long admired democracy of the United States of America began a slow and steady decline toward fascism - a Bush family tradition - with the installment of a president - a man the citizens overwhelmingly rejected (although the funny math told a still believed myth) - by a few corrupt judges on the US Supreme Court. That coup is now nearly complete and checkmate is all but unavoidable.
Let me first point you to the Bush administration's so-called Wall Street bailout bill, here, so that you can see for yourself that this treachery is being conducted in the light of day. Fascism is finally and formally out of the right-wing closet even if the F word is not yet openly being used (although it should be, and often).
Now, if you do not yet understand that the Wall Street crisis is a man-made disaster done through intentional deregulation and corruption, I have a bridge in Alaska to sell to you (or Sara Palin does anyway). This manufactured crisis is now to be remedied, if the fiscal fascists get their way, with the total transfer of Congressional powers (the few that still remain) to the Executive Branch and the total transfer of public funds into corporate (via government as intermediary) hands.
I would guess that this has to be one of the biggest peacetime transfers of power from Congress to the Administration in history. (Anyone know?). Certainly one of the most concise.
The Treasury Secretary can buy broadly defined assets, on any terms he wants, he can hire anyone he wants to do it and can appoint private sector companies as financial deputies of the US government. And he can write whatever regulation he thinks are needed.
Most importantly, Davidson points to this passage in the bill:
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.
The Bush family, in the form of Prescott Bush, has tried a more aggressive coup before in order to install fascism in this country. This treasonous plot was called "the Business Plot," because the high-level plotters - including Prescott Bush - were Wall Street men who openly supported fascism.
It seems this time around, the Bush family is trying the more subtle approach to open bloodshed: first create a crisis, then under the guise of addressing that crisis, overthrow democracy. Yes, it does sound terribly conspiracy-theory-esque when explained just this way. But what else does one call a criminal conspiracy to destroy Congressional powers permanently, alter Judicial powers permanently, and steal public funds?
As I see it now, we have but two options and I have long alluded to hoping against hope that one of these options would not be the only one left to a peaceful people. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against the members of this latest Business Plot.
No time needs to be wasted on hearings as we already now have in writing, formally as presented to Congress, the intentions of this administration to nullify Congressional powers permanently, to alter Judicial powers permanently, and to openly steal public funds using as blackmail the total collapse of the US economy if these powers are not handed over. You do see how this is blackmail, do you not? You do see how this is a manufactured crisis precisely designed to be used as blackmail, do you not?
The other option, the one I have long prayed we would never need to even consider, is a total revolution. But, If Congress won't act in its own self-defense, in the defense of democracy, in defense of us - the people who have elected them to protect us from this very danger - then what is left for us to do? I don't want to see it come down to this, but I fear that it will. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was, and your version of God will be worshiped in secrecy because your freedoms will be owned by the few.source article

"The Zionist (Israeli) regime and the philosophy of Zionism are the summation of all evil and selfishness in the world," Ahmadinejad said Saturday.
In reference to Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip, the president said the continuation of the existence of the Israeli regime only produces further aggression toward Palestinians. Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran has refused to recognize Israel for its occupation of Palestinian lands as well as the numerous crimes committed against the people of Palestine - which have been condemned by even close Israeli allies.
Several UN Security Council resolutions condemning Israeli actions against Palestinians have been defied by Israel. The US, Israel's number one ally, has also exercised its veto powers to prevent the adoption of 42 anti-Israeli resolutions sought by the council since 1972. Since 2004, Washington has vetoed three resolutions which called for Tel Aviv to halt its operations in the Gaza Strip - which had been occupied by Israeli forces from 1967 to 1994. The US use of veto powers has led to a continuation of rocket launches by Tel Aviv into the strip, causing the death of a large number of civilians.
After declaring the strip 'a hostile entity' in September 2007, Israel curtailed travel into Gaza and cut fuel and electricity supplies to the region. As Gaza depends upon external healthcare systems for the provision of a broad range of medical treatments, the Israeli imposed military blockade forced chronically ill and terminal patients to desperately seek passage out of the coastal strip.
Physicians for Human Rights-Israel released a report in August, titled Holding Health to Ransom, exposing 'the methods of coercion' Israel has employed to pressure Gazans and to spy on the strip. According to the report, the regime prevents such patients from leaving Gaza to receive medical treatment unless they can provide desired information about their relatives. Medical treatment for 'the most helpless members of society', reads the report, 'is explicitly or implicitly made contingent upon collaboration' with Israel on a 'regular' basis.
"I decide and set the rules, and you'll see that if you do as I say, I'll let you go to Ichilov Hospital," the report quotes an interrogator as telling a patient. "It depends if you accept my demands."
The situation in Gaza is such that Iran has on numerous occasions called on the United Nations to stop the 'collective punishment' imposed on Palestinians. Tehran also demands the enforcement of UN resolutions against Tel Aviv.
President Ahmadinejad said in his Saturday speech that thanks to the assistance of the White House, the world can witness all forms of 'crimes and criminals' in Israel.
Referring to the International Day of Quds (September 26), an Iran-initiated annual rally held on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, President Ahmadinejad called on all men of free will to show their support for Palestinians struggling to liberate their lands from the Zionist occupation.
P.S. Just who are the good guys in this 'clash of civilizations' that our zionist lords are imposing on the world?... The question is rhetorical. I know we're part of the zionist axis.
Earlier this week, I released a piece I wrote entitled ‘Killing The Messenger Before He Arrives–The Real Reason For Israel’s Latest Threat To Kidnap Ahmadinejhad’ in which I put forth the theory that the reason Israel is threatening to kidnap Ahmadinejhad and why the US has (at least as of this moment) denied him an entry visa into the US is because he might ‘possibly’ be planning on divulging information ‘so embarrassing’ to Israel and the US that it would prevent them from launching an attack on Iran.
Well the truth of the matter is, we know a lot more about this than the article suggests and the wordcraft I used in the article was me ‘playing dumb’ until I had a better handle on what Israel and the US were planning to do with regards to Ahmadinejhad being allowed to come to the UN. Now, just a few days before he is scheduled to speak he is not being given the opportunity and therefore Phil and I have decided that it is time to strike out with the truth.
The fact is this–There was the very good likelihood Ahmadinejhad was going to discuss Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty on the floor of the UN General Assembly or (per our request) even that he would yield 3 minutes of his time to give USS Liberty survivor Phil Tourney an opportunity to tell the world what Israel did to him and his shipmates 41 years ago.
Phil and I have no doubt that in the 2 months we were putting this thing together that our conversations regarding this were being monitored as well as our emails. As soon as we got word from our contact in Iran (who works closely with the president) that he was very positively disposed towards our request and that he had ordered his staff to assemble as much information on the USS Liberty possible, BOOM!!!–Israel threatens to kidnap him. This, coupled with the US preventing his visa into the US when the request was made months ago cannot be mere coincidence, and anyone who believes Israel is not listening in on every conversation going in and out of Iran needs to come into the 21st century.
Our hope was that by mentioning the unmentionable topic of Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty 41 years ago (as well as the subsequent cover-up by the US government) that it would start a chain reaction of awareness–not only in the US, but all over the world–that would in essence draw a big red circle around Israel, where her past, present and future proclivity towards false flag operations would come under intense scrutiny, thus precluding her ability to launch another made-to-order event that would lead to the war to end all wars.
Therefore, Phil and I are requesting that everyone reading this press release shout it from the top of your lungs–THAT THE REASON AHMADINEJHAD IS BEING PREVENTED FROM SPEAKING AT THE UN IS BECAUSE HE MOST LIKELY PLANS TO DISCUSS THE ONE STRAW THAT MAY BREAK THE CAMEL’S BACK WITH REGARDS TO THE DANGEROUS FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE US AND ISRAEL–ISRAEL’S ATTACK ON THE USS LIBERTY.
Now, just as it was 41 years ago, dark, treacherous and treasonous elements operating within the highest levels of power in the two countries conspired to sink the ship in order to bring the US into Israel’s wars and now, just as they did 41 years ago, they are attempting to hide the truth from the American people. DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT AGAIN. THIS MAY BE THE LAST CHANCE WE HAVE OF SAVING OUR COUNTRY. TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW THAT IT IS ISRAEL’S ATTACK ON THE USS LIBERTY THAT IS KEEPING AHMADINEJHAD OUT OF THE US!!!

Early this morning US forces surrounded a home in a small village near the Iraqi town of Tikrit and destroyed it with an air strike, killing eight people. According to Iraqi police and neighbors, all those killed were civilians. One of the neighbors reported his home was also raided during the operation and that American forces “ordered people not to leave their homes” during the attack.
Large crowds of angry Iraqis reportedly marched through the streets after morning prayers, condemning the attacks and chanting “America is the enemy of God”. The new civilian deaths are likely to further complicate the already stalled Status of Forces Agreement with Iraq. The Iraqis have insisted on jurisdiction over US contractors and military personnel largely because of the number of civilians being killed by the forces.
The US forces issued a statement after the incident, and as is so often the case their story contradicts the reports from the scene. According to the US the raid targeted a “suspected al-Qaeda operative,” and he and three other militants were killed, along with three women. They also claimed to have rescued a child from the rubble.
The US said the deaths of the women they killed in the air strike were further proof of al-Qaeda’s willingness to “repeatedly risk the lives of innocent women and children to further their evil work”.
P.S. Aren't you glad that 'our finest' aren't fighting them over here?
OK, a correspondent directs me to John McCain’s article, Better Health Care at Lower Cost for Every American, in the Sept./Oct. issue of Contingencies, the magazine of the American Academy of Actuaries. You might want to be seated before reading this.
Here’s what McCain has to say about the wonders of market-based health reform:
Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.
So McCain, who now poses as the scourge of Wall Street, was praising financial deregulation like 10 seconds ago — and promising that if we marketize health care, it will perform as well as the financial industry!
P.S. Voting for Obama is naive. Voting for McCain is just insane.
...The organization I represented had been alienated by the undemocratic machinations and Zionist-friendly politics of an earlier attempt to unite the peace movement, the United For Peace and Justice leadership, and had disassociated from UFPJ...I had been particularly impressed by the Palestine-centered proposal of the Middle East Crisis Committee of Connecticut, and was able to join forces early on with its delegates Stan Heller (who broadcasts a poignant weekly progressive news program called “The Struggle” that is carried on some 30 local Cable Access channels) and Mazin Qumsiyeh, the prime mover of the Wheels for Justice program. Following the adoption of the Coordinating Committee's Action Proposal by the Assembly, Stan submitted an amendment incorporating the basic principles of the MECC's earlier proposal, consisting of several parts. All of it called for stronger, clearer language on the issue of Palestine and its integral relationship to the antiwar movement, in opposition to the lip-service language proposed as an alternative by the Coordinating Committee. But it also contained a revolutionary claim that challenged the Coordinating Committee's boilerplate “war for oil” explanation by proposing two additional causes of the war: "the interests of the military industrial complex and the influence of the lobbies of Jewish and Christian Zionists."
This multi-part amendment was opposed by the Coordinating Committee, and those of its leading members who now comprised the Presiding Committee took turns speaking against it as it came up for vote. The three of us agreed that Mazin should give the overall introduction, I should address the additional causes of war, and Stan would address the rest and summarize, since we were allowed a total of only three speakers. Here was the substance of my remarks, which were limited to two minutes.
I present here the full text of my speech from my notes, for reasons that will become clear later:
"The slogan “no war for oil” had real resonance and organizing potential during the First Gulf War. But as a complete explanation for the current war against Iraq it has been effectively debunked by modern scholars, who have identified Zionist Israel as the necessary condition of the war against Iraq. In fact, there are significant contradictions, explicated by Jonathon Cook in his recent work “Israel and the Clash of Civilizations,” between the current political chaos in Iraq (about which he documents the Bush Administration was well warned before proceeding with this war) and the expressed interests of the oil industry.
Can we possibly sell this “war for oil” hypothesis to ordinary Americans who are daily gouged at the gas pump, that this war has gained oil for America? And what of the promise made to them by the war's promoters that the costs of this war would be paid for by the oil revenues of Iraq, instead of by taxes levied on working people, indebting our children for possibly generations to come?
If we honestly reflect, we must recognize that the deepest divisions in the antiwar movement have been around this issue, and the failure of the movement as a whole to openly recognize it. This has in turn hampered our ability to recruit our natural allies, Arab-Americans and Muslims, who have a natural, experiential understanding of this issue, to fuller participation in the antiwar cause and therefore our ability as organizers to mobilize. If, on the other hand, we take this opportunity to finally lift the taboo on recognizing that the oppression of Palestinians and the influence of the Zionist lobbies are integral parts of the “war on terror,” not only in launching the war against Iraq, but even more unarguably in pushing the impending war against Iran, it will go far to begin healing this breach, a necessary step if we really hope to unify our divided antiwar movement."
Stan Heller's speech, which followed mine, concluded with a rousing call for a “fearless antiwar movement” that brought many to their feet in applause. The final vote was close, but the Assembly's vote clearly favored our amendment over the milquetoast language of the Coordinating Committee. This was our first democratic victory. But the opponents of our proposal were not subdued. Despite the understanding we had been given that the winning proposal would be forthwith included in the Action Program, the acting Chair, who I believe was Jeff Mackler, ruled that he would now allow amendments to our language. This, of course, is a violation of Robert's Rules, which requires that whenever an assembly is considering alternative proposals, all amendment must be done BEFORE they are voted on. Alas, this would not be the last of Robert's Rules to be seriously breached by our opponents. In any case, an amendment was offered from the floor to remove from our amendment any reference to the Zionist lobbies as a cause of the war. Its proponent argued that he did not believe that the Zionist lobby dominated US foreign policy. In speaking against the amendment, I noted that it was essentially an effort to rob our recently approved language of its substance (essentially raising the same issue twice, which Robert's Rules forbids), and then went on to cite the many scholars, including Drs. Walt and Mearsheimer, Dr. James Petras and Jonathon Cook, all of whom have identified the influence of the Zionist lobby as instrumental in instigating US war against Iraq. The vote was extremely close on this one, but once again we prevailed: the majority of the Assembly defended our language that included explicit reference to the Zionist lobbies. This was our second democratic victory. Then the amended language was put to a final vote, and it now won easily. This was our amendment's third democratic victory.
Naturally, we were elated by all this, and left the Assembly with hope and good faith understanding that the Action Program document issued by the Administrative Body (whose members were elected at the very end of the Assembly after many of us had already left) would reflect the democratic decisions of the Assembly, including our adopted amendments. But our trust was tragically ill placed. Our opponents refused to accept their democratic defeat... [a deconstruction of the oposition's actions can be read at the link below]... statements of fact about Zionism are POLITICALLY UNACCEPTABLE to those with Zionist leanings, or those who are overly concerned about the possible response from those with Zionist leanings. In the first category, I would list so-called Left Zionists: those in the antiwar movement who want to have their cake (appear to oppose war) and eat it too (except where Israel's role in it, or Israel's putative security, is concerned). In the second category, a good example would be many members of the Democratic Party (60% of whose fundraising comes from Jewish-funded political action committees, according to a recent estimate by Richard Cohen of the Washington Post). And of course, there are more than enough of both in the antiwar movement who wish to co-opt it for their own political purposes.
There is a failure in the antiwar movement generally to grasp the essence of Zionism, and to understand how inimical it is to justice or to peace. It is inimical to justice because it is premised on the brutal dispossession of native Palestinians and their permanent alienation from their own land and homes, and it is inimical to peace because it wishes Israel to have undisputed hegemony in the Middle East, and its powerful lobbies are employed to manipulate the United States government into securing it for them by fighting Israel's “enemies” on Israel's behalf. The antiwar movement cannot make common cause with Zionists any more than it can make common cause with Nazis or Nicaraguan Contras. Some ideologies are violent by nature.... they have unjust, antidemocratic goals which can only be accomplished by illicit, belligerent means. And when their votaries (or agents) infiltrate the antiwar movement, they eventually manifest this same pattern of behavior. The antiwar movement cannot serve both the cause of peace and the cause of Zionism – morally speaking, these two causes are diametrically opposed. And as we have seen in this example of the National Assembly, as in so many others before it, Zionists and their cronies cannot serve both the cause of Zionism and the cause of peace (and democratic praxis) either. In the end, what does Zionism have to do with peacemaking? The continuing attempt to admix these two opposing forces of light and darkness has led, naturally enough, to the waning twilight of the American antiwar movement.
Our movement is now at a crossroads: As this report demonstrates, yet another attempt to unite the antiwar movement democratically has failed to materialize. The pattern of imposing authoritarian political correctness and of performing endless damage control for Zionism at the expense of internal democracy is no less apparent in this latest episode of the National Assembly's Administrative Body as it was in UFPJ from its first convention, but why should we expect anything different? After all, a number of its principals are the same people!
It therefore behooves those who genuinely seek an end to US wars to come to grips with Zionism's role in perpetrating America's modern wars, and to categorically exclude from participation in the antiwar movement anyone with Zionist sympathies. The way to do this is EXACTLY by beginning with an unequivocal anti-Zionist position.
Why would we ever want the participation of anyone whose first goal is to deflect criticism from a primary progenitor of the war (Israel)? Recognizing that this is the hidden agenda of Zionists within the antiwar movement is the first, necessary step to recovering our internal democracy as a movement, and thence our energy and direction. Having Zionists in the antiwar movement is not much different from having in the movement someone working for the CIA, for Lockheed-Martin or an Army recruiter, who joins the antiwar movement to seek a softer line from us on the military-industrial complex because our obloquy against it hits a little too close to home. Wars are not waged without cause. Wars always serve somebody's interests. Those who have taken the time to study contemporary US wars understand that all three of the forces that would have been listed by the National Assembly's action program if it had not been corrupted by Zionist influence -- the military-industrial complex, Zionists and likely a few opportunists in the oil and oil services sector – believed they stood to gain from US war against Iraq (and potential war against Iran), and Zionists in particular promoted this war from the very beginning. Any denial of this by the antiwar movement flies in the face of modern historical scholarship. Crypto-zionists (and their sycophants) in the antiwar movement serve as the rear guard of the Zionist Power Configuration so well described by author James Petras in his latest books, and they should not be permitted to further obstruct the movement's progress in identifying the real and demonstrated perpetrators of the wars we so bitterly oppose, which are draining our nation (not to mention those nations wantonly attacked) of blood and treasure, while indebting generations yet unborn to pay for it, in the interests of making the world safe...for Apartheid Israel.
How can we, in the antiwar movement, ever inspire other less informed Americans to think outside of the box, if we cower before the taboo of recognizing Zionism as a co-belligerent and primary instigator of the current war against Iraq and of an impending war against Iran? The answer, of course, is that we cannot, because our actions always speak louder than our words. And even if the National Assembly succeeds in mobilizing mass numbers to demonstrate against the current war, its major announced goal, the antiwar movement cannot make any real progress without freely and fearlessly confronting this five-ton elephant in our living room. With recognized scholars like James Petras, Stephen Walt, John Mearsheimer and journalists of the stature of Jonathon Cook and Jeffrey Blankfort all assiduously documenting the manipulation of America's bellicose policies in the Middle East by the forces of Zionism, we have no excuses left.
P.S. It's more than high time to call out and protest the war mongers.

Westminster Committee on Iran
It is apparent that the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have no regard for the intelligence of their constituents. Since this Presidential race began, we have been sidetracked with barbs and inferences as well as “straw man” arguments. Neither corporate candidate has addressed the real concerns of Americans. The saddest part of this travesty we call an election is that both parties are well aware what arguments they want to put out in front of the people and what issues they would prefer not to talk about.
The term “principles over personalities” has not entered the mind-set of both campaigns. The United States is much like the Titanic, listing to one side and ready to take the long dive to the bottom. We have a 9.5 Trillion Dollar deficit that is being held by foreign countries. The biggest part of our economy, home ownership that makes up approximately half of the assets of our country in mortgages sold to trust funds, retirement plans and government bonds and other investment vehicles is quickly going “bottom up”. This isn’t conjecture, it is fact. A fact that both corporate parties have no answer to. We are facing a depression not seen since the 1930’s and the corporatist parties are still arranging the deck chairs.
We spend 48% of the entire world’s military expenditures’. The truth is that even with this massive amount of military spending; both candidates promise more of the same. The candidates appear on the corporate-controlled media and no media “personalities” ask them how they are going to pay for more military expenditures or why we need military bases in 140 different countries. Obama, the former “anti-war” candidate panders to the Republican base by promising to increase troop strength in the Army by 65,000 soldiers. As a former Army recruiter, I will say that would be a neat trick. Just how does he believe he will entice that many young people to join the Army when they see soldiers spending multiple tours in combat year after year?
The corporate duopoly doesn’t mention the debasement of our Constitution in the last seven years. They turn a blind eye as the Bill of Rights has been reduced to just another historical document that has only a sentimental value. The Republic is financed by a central bank that Americans are becoming increasingly aware of. The Federal Reserve, a privately owned bank sells us our own money at interest while it prints fiat money of no value. These issues are of no interest to the corporate parties, they won’t talk about the abandonment of the Constitution, The Bill of Rights or the failed economy that practices “corporate welfare” as thousands of Americans are thrown from their homes.
Both corporate controlled parties still echo the false rhetoric that Russia is the looming menace. They decry the “invasion” of Georgia when the facts are that the Georgians started the war with American and Israeli support. They are both committed to military superiority as the most important facet of our foreign policy. This is occurring in spite of the fact that our constitutional rights, our homes and our money are becoming worthless.
The time has come to give up the American Empire and concentrate on our own nation instead of trying to control all events that take place in the world. We can no longer afford our super-inflated military in a time when there is no direct threat of invasion from anywhere. The Democrats and Republicans throw issues out like “gay rights” and “a woman’s right to choose”, taxes and healthcare in order to take our minds off of what is really happening in this period of our history.
Ron Paul, Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader and Chuck Baldwin are talking about these issues but the corporate controlled media won’t let them speak to the people. The time has come for the people of the United States to wake from their slumber and turn their backs on the Democrats and Republicans that have become corrupted by corporate money beyond redemption. There must be a third party candidate that rises above the others. We need a candidate that all of us can rally around. We can no longer play “party politics” with two political parties that no longer care about the interests of the people.
This election is not going to be a turning point regardless of who captures the Presidency. One man or woman or one political party is not going to save this nation from becoming just another failed state. This week-end, there was a Conference for the Planning for Prosecution of High Level American War Criminals. The following was discussed:
* What international and domestic crimes were committed, which facts show crimes under which laws, and what punishments are possible.
* Which high level Executive officials — and Federal judges and legislators as well, if any — are chargeable with crimes.
* Which international tribunals, foreign tribunals and domestic tribunals (if any) can be used and how to begin cases and/or obtain prosecutions before them.
* The possibility of establishing a Chief Prosecutor's Office such as the one at Nuremburg.
* An examination of cases already brought and their outcomes.
* Creating an umbrella Coordinating Committee with representatives from the increasing number of organizations involved in war crimes cases.
* Creating a Center to keep track of and organize compilations of relevant briefs, articles, books, opinions, and facts, etc., on war crimes and prosecutions of war criminals.
We are at a time in our history when, like other societies that could no longer count on their government to govern by “The Rule of Law” to work outside of the Federal government. Conferences such as the one mentioned should be taking place on an ongoing basis. A “Shadow Government” should be established to monitor the legality of actions by the Federal government under domestic and international law.
The point that I am making is that our government is failing the vast majority of American citizens. We as citizens must hold them accountable for their actions. If that means coalescing into a united front to restore the rule of law in this country and take the government to court for their malfeasance than that is what our obligations should be. We can no longer trust the corporate controlled Democrats and Republicans to obey the Constitution, or International Law.
